Stanhopea oculata
Uncommon orchid that will do really well in a greenhouse but isn't recommended for low humidity, household growing. Bucket-like blooms will emerge from the bottom and sides of the plant - it is recommended to grow in a basket or pot with large holes in the sides and bottom. This South American species produces blooms of variable color but will often range from orange to more of a muted yellow. 4-5 flowers per spike. Medium-high humidity is necessary for flowers to form.
Note: These like to stay moist and prefer drying slightly between waterings. Not super picky about light or heat.
Unless stated, orchids will not arrive in spike or bloom.
