Paphiopedilum fowliei v. alba 3in
The alba form of a miniature Paph species from the Philippines with mottled leaves. Don't be fooled! This Paph produces a single green and white bloom larger than the plant. Blooming size in a 2 inch pot! Tolerant of a range of conditions but prefers intermediate-warm and moist. Reliable yearly bloomer with flowers lasting 2 months. We love how easy Paphs are.
Photo is representative of blooms you can expect to see but is not the exact bloom of this plant. Flower color and shape may vary. This is a blooming size plant, but unless stated it will not arrive in bud.
PAPHIOPEDILUM CARE INFO:
Potting mix: Fine bark mix. Repot carefully in Spring once every two years to prevent acidification of bark. Be careful not to damage roots. May enjoy application of dolomite lime once per season.
Light: Bright indirect-medium light. Place within 3 ft of a bright but indirect light source or window. North or east facing preferred. Shield from hot South/West afternoon sun.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media reaches dry. Allow drying between waterings but don't let it stay dry. Flush the pot bi-monthly with clean water to prevent salt buildup.
Temp: Cool-warm (60F min night, 80F max day).
Humidity: 30-80%, tolerant of moderate-low humidity with adequate watering.
Fertilizing: Heavy feeder during the growing season (Spring-Fall). 1/2 strength urea-free fertilizer every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Decrease to 1/4 or 1/8 strength once monthly in Winter.
