A small size mottled-leaf Paphiopedilum native to China. Produces pink and green flowers with characteristic long and downturned purple petals. An interesting flower to say the least. Tolerant of a range of conditions . Very reliable winter-spring bloomer. Prefers warm growing and staying on the moist (but not wet) side.

Photo is representative of blooms you can expect to see but is not the exact bloom of this plant. Flower color and shape may vary. This is a near blooming size plant and is likely to bloom in a year.

PAPHIOPEDILUM CARE INFO:

Potting mix: Fine bark mix. Repot carefully in Spring once every two years to prevent acidification of bark. Be careful not to damage roots.

Light: Medium light. Place within 3 ft of a bright but indirect light source or window. North facing preferred. Shield from hot South/West afternoon sun.

Water: Water frequently in hot months when media reaches dry (twice a week roughly). Allow drying between waterings but don't let it stay dry. Flush the pot monthly with clean water to prevent salt buildup. Decrease in Winter.

Temp: Intermediate-warm (60F min night, 90F max day). Slightly cooler Winter.

Humidity: 30-80%, tolerant of moderate-low humidity with adequate watering.

Fertilizing: Regular feeder during the growing season (Spring-Fall). 1/2-1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Decrease to 1/8 strength once monthly in Winter.
