This species, native to the islands of Indonesia, is a sequential-blooming Paph that will produce cute pink and green fuzzy flowers one after another for months - even years. It is recommended to not cut the spike back until it browns and dries. Paph liemianum is an alkaline growing variety meaning it natively grows on limestone. If potted in bark, consider topping with a sprinkle of crushed limestone or dolomite lime once per year (or whenever repotting occurs). As you will see over and over in the descriptions on here, Paphs are easy! Compact plant, but not a miniature.

Photo is representative of blooms you can expect to see but is not the exact bloom of this plant. Young blooming size plant, but unless stated it will not arrive in bud.

MOTTLED PAPHIOPEDILUM CARE INFO:

Potting mix: Coarse/fine bark mix. Repot carefully in Spring once per year to prevent acidification of bark. A sprinkle of Dolomite lime/crushed oyster shell can be applied to the top bark once a year. Be careful not to damage roots as they will often die off if broken.

Light: Bright indirect light. Place within 3 ft of a bright but indirect light source or window. North facing preferred. Shield from hot South/West afternoon sun.

Water: Water frequently (2-3x per week) in hot months when media reaches dry. Allow drying between waterings but don't let it stay dry. Flush the pot once per month with clean water to prevent salt buildup.

Temp: Intermediate-warm (60F min night, 90F max day).

Humidity: 30-80%, tolerant of moderate-low humidity with adequate watering.

Fertilizing: 1/2-1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Decrease to 1/8 strength once monthly or stop entirely in Winter.
