Paph. henryanum 3in
Paph. henryanum ('Jinx' x 'Hoodview' HCC/AOS) will have some variety in the bloom shape and color. Native to South/Southeast China and on the compact side. Very narrow leaves with an impressive bloom size relative to the rest of the plant. Intermediate-warm grower with a preference for being wetter (but not soggy).
Photo is of an unknown cultivar of the species. Seeded population so blooms will vary from plant to plant. This is a young blooming size plant.
PAPHIOPEDILUM CARE INFO:
Potting mix: Coarse/fine bark mix. Repot carefully in Spring once per year to prevent acidification of bark. Paphs enjoy a good repotting but be careful not to damage roots as they will not produce off-shoots.
Light: Bright indirect light. Place within 3 ft of a bright but indirect light source or window. North facing preferred. Shield from hot South/West afternoon sun.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media reaches dry. Allow drying between waterings but don't let it stay dry. Flush the pot bi-monthly with clean water to prevent salt buildup.
Temp: Intermediate-warm (60F min night, 85F max day).
Humidity: 30-60%, tolerant of moderate-low humidity with adequate watering.
Fertilizing: Heavy feeder during the growing season (Spring-Fall). 1/2 strength urea-free fertilizer every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Decrease to 1/4 or 1/8 strength once monthly in Winter.
