Oncidium Gower Ramsey 4in
Oncidium orchids, or "dancing ladies" create some of the largest and most delicate looking displays. Although these orchids are far from delicate in nature, they create eye-catching tall sprays of 1 inch flowers. Oncidium Gower Ramsey is a well known orange-yellow Oncidium variety. An excellent choice for those that like to water.
ONCIDIUM CARE:
Potting mix: Fine bark or fine bark and sphagnum mix. Repot in Spring once root bound.
Light: Bright indirect - medium light. Place within 3 feet of a window or plant light. Not picky about window direction. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media is near dry. Do not allow to stay dry for long periods (pseudobulbs will shrivel, leaves will crisp and "accordion").
Temp: Intermediate-warm (55F min night, 90F max day).
Humidity: 30-60%, tolerant of low humidity.
Fertilizing: Heavy feeding Spring-Summer. 1/2-1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Decrease in winter as growth slows. Flush the pot with tap water once monthly to remove mineral build up.
