Psy. Mendenhall 'Hildos' 4in

An award winning hybrid with parents from South American that has gained the nickname "butterfly orchid". Sequential bloomer which will bloom for years from the same long spike so don't cut it off! Flowers are large, 5in long with spindled petals and a ruffly yellow and orange lip. Mottled leathery leaves with purple undersides. A very interesting plant to look at. 

Easy grower. Prefers medium light conditions and ample summer watering. Too high of light can result in stunted flowers. Too low of light can result in stunted foliage. Similar to Phalaenopsis in care and growth condition preference with a need for more frequent watering. Not terribly picky about humidity but 60-85% is recommended. Repot yearly. Hot-intermediate grower (60-90F). 

Blooming size orchid but will not be in bloom. Flower color may vary depending on growth conditions.
