Oip. Pacific Paragon 'Honey Butter' 4in
Oncidiopsis (Oip, Mtdm) orchids are Oncidium intergeneric hybrids of Miltoniopsis and Oncidium. This one is Onc. Sphacetante x Mps. Rene Komoda.
This variety produces sprays of 2 inch blooms in soft yellow, white, and orange. Care for just like an Oncidium hybrid. A rewarding orchid perfect for beginners. Twice a year blooming with flowers that last around 2-3 months.
ONCIDIOPSIS CARE INFO:
Potting mix: Fine bark or long fiber sphagnum mix. Repot in Spring every 1-2 years.
Light: Bright indirect - medium light. North or East preferred. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media reaches dry (about once or twice a week). Slightly more drought tolerant than Miltonia/Miltoniopsis.
Temp: Cool-intermediate (50F min night, 85F max day).
Humidity: 40-80%, tolerant of low humidity but prefers intermediate.
Fertilizing: Consistent feeding Spring-Summer. 1/2-1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Flush the pot once monthly to prevent salt build up. Decrease to once monthly in Winter.
