Callista Dendrobiums are a group of cool-intermediate evergreen compact Dens with clustered blooms that last a week or two. Den. sulcatum is native to Thailand and has flattened pseudobulbs which makes it a stand out. It will remain rather compact and puts out clusters of yellow blooms in late spring that will be fragrant. Goes into dormancy during winter but doesn't need full dry rest like deciduous/Nobile types.

Compact-ish. But as these get older with more growths they can put out an impressive number of blooms.

Blooming size. Plant may vary from the one pictured.

CALLISTA DENDROBIUM CARE INFO:

Potting mix: Coarse-fine orchid bark with perlite or mounted with moss. Repot in Spring once root bound. Do not allow bark to become waterlogged.

Light: Medium-bright indirect light. Bright North is recommended to protect from heat. Shaded West is ok too. Prefers bright Winter and slightly darker Spring-Summer as blooms and new growths develop.

Water: Water frequently in hot months when media is dry. Decrease in cold months, watering to prevent shriveling of the canes. Partially dormant in Winter.

Temp: Cool-intermediate (50F min night, 75F max day).

Humidity: 50-80%, tolerant of lower humidity with adequate watering.

Fertilizing: 1/2-1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Decrease or stop fertilizing in winter. General rule: begin in Spring, stop in Winter.
