Catasetum Frilly Doris 4in
Catasetum Frilly Doris is an orchid hybrid originated by F.Clarke in 2002. It is a cross of Ctsm. Doris's Choice x Ctsm. Dona Marie. Deciduous (leaves drop in winter), requires a period of dormancy in winter with very sparse watering. Be careful if potted in sphagnum moss.
Blooming size. Plant may vary from the one pictured.
CATASETUM CARE INFO:
Potting mix: Coarse orchid bark or well-draining bark mix. Repot in Spring once root bound. Do not allow bark to become waterlogged.
Light: Bright indirect - partial direct light. Shaded South or West facing preferred. Bright North is also acceptable.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media is dry. Keep the bulbs plump. Stop in the cold months, watering only enough to prevent dramatic shriveling of the bulbs. These enjoy rapid wet/dry cycles.
Temp: Intermediate-warm (55F min night, 90F max day).
Humidity: 30-60%, tolerant of low humidity with adequate watering.
Fertilizing: 1/2 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Stop fertilizing in winter. General rule: begin in Spring, stop in Winter.
