Bulbophyllum maxillare 3in
This Bulbophyllum species is named due to its similarity with Maxillaria flowers. It was originally lumped together with Bulb. masdevaliaceum, but has been separated into its own species. They grow on tree trunks in hot climates spanning the peninsulas of Malaysia, the Solomon islands, Philippines, and islands off the coast of Australia. The flowers are red with yellow edges and average in 1 1/2-2" in size. Bulbophyllum orchids prefer high humidity and will thrive in medium-bright indirect light. This variety will bloom in variable seasons and enjoys being grown mounted with high, shaded light.
This is a mature, blooming size plant. Unless otherwise stated, it will not arrive in bloom or spike.
