Brassidium Gilded Urchin 'Ontario'
Brassidium Gilded Urchin 'Ontario' is the distinguished cultivar of a primary hybrid (Brs. arcuigera x Onc. wentworthianum) that produces elongated yellow flowers with a brown speckled center. Long spindly blooms have earned this genus the title of "spider orchid". A rewarding orchid perfect for beginners.

BRASSIDIUM CARE INFO:
Potting mix: Fine bark or fine and coarse bark mix. Repot in Spring every 2 years.
Light: Bright indirect - medium light. Shielded South or West facing preferred but ample North and East light should suffice. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media is dry (about once or twice a week).
Temp: Intermediate-warm (50F min night, 90F max day).
Humidity: 30-60%, tolerant of low humidity.
Fertilizing: Heavy feeding Spring-Summer. 1/2 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Flush the pot once monthly to prevent salt build up. Decrease to once monthly in Winter.
