Arthurara Sea Snake 'Unforgettable'
Arthurara is an intergeneric hybrid of Brassia, Miltonia, Oncidium, and Rhynchostele. This variety produces dramatic leopard spotted elongated flowers with and a dark purple center. Long spindly blooms have earned this genus the title of "spider orchid". A rewarding orchid perfect for beginners.
Plant may vary from pictured. Orchid plugs have 1-2 growth points. Plugs range from near blooming size (1-2 years from blooming) to blooming size. Grower selection.
ARTHURARA CARE INFO:
Potting mix: Fine bark or coarse mix with long fiber sphagnum. Repot in Spring every 1-2 years.
Light: Bright indirect - medium light. Does not care about window direction. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media reaches dry (about once or twice a week). Slightly more drought tolerant than Brassia/Miltonia.
Temp: Intermediate-warm (50F min night, 90F max day).
Humidity: 40-80%, tolerant of low humidity but prefers intermediate.
Fertilizing: Heavy feeding Spring-Summer. 1/2 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Flush the pot once monthly to prevent salt build up. Decrease to once monthly in Winter.
