Aerangis citrata x sib 3in
Aerangis citrata is native to Madagascar and is a miniature orchid that produces small crystalline white flowers with a lemon fragrance. Blooms only last 4-6 weeks but when given the proper care, this will bloom multiple times per year. Aerangis orchids at full maturity can produce up to 20 blooms on one spike that will last 6 weeks. They love high humidity and thrive in terrariums, well-lit bathrooms or near a humidifier. They can be grown potted or mounted.
AERANGIS CARE INFO:
Potting mix: Fine bark or medium bark+sphagnum mix. Repot every 1-2 years as the media breaks down. Can be mounted on cork with sphagnum or tree fern.
Light: Bright indirect-medium light. Window direction doesn't matter but harsh light will not be tolerated. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure.
Water: Water frequently in hot months when media has dried slightly. High humidity will help prevent the media from drying out too quickly. Water at the base of the plant to prevent crown rot.
Temp: Cool-warm (55F min night, 85F max day).
Humidity: 60-90%, needs high humidity with good air circulation.
Fertilizing: Light feeding year round. 1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Run clean room temperature tap water through the pot once monthly to prevent salt buildup. Decrease to every 3rd watering if leaf burning is observed.
