Ficus retusa (sometimes called Ficus ginseng) is a classic choice for an indoor bonsai and is part of the fig tree family. Bulbous, woody stems create interesting holes and crevices resembling a baobab tree. With consistent watering, this is a great choice for a beginner bonsai.
