Aliceara orchids are a complex cross between Brassia, Miltonia and Oncidium. Alcra. Aliceara Pacific Pastel 'Mauna Loa' is an attractive variety with star shaped white flowers and dotty pink and yellow center. A charming and easy orchid that is as rewarding as it is forgiving.

Plant may vary from pictured. Unless stated, this plant may not arrive in bloom.

Blooming size: YES, blooms last 2-3 months, will bloom on tall tree-like spikes. Bloom time is variable.

Bloom info: 2in ruffled pink and burgundy spotted flowers with yellow center. Blooms emerge from new pseudobulb growths.

CARE INFO:

Potting mix: Fine bark or medium bark+perlite mix. Repot in Spring every 2 years.

Light: Bright indirect - medium light. Shielded South or West facing preferred for largest bloom display. North or East facing tolerated. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure. 

Water: Water frequently in hot months when media is dry. Do not allow to stay dry for long periods (pseudobulbs will shrivel, leaves will crisp and "accordion"). Decrease in cold months, allowing to dry fully between waterings.

Temp: Intermediate-warm (55F min night, 90F max day).

Humidity: 30-60%, tolerant of low humidity.

Fertilizing: Heavy feeding Spring-Fall. 1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Flush the pot with water once monthly to remove mineral build up. Decrease to 1/4 or 1/8 strength once monthly in Winter.
